The camp will be conducted by school teachers who have previously conducted aviation camps.
Planned activities are listed - Changes may occur due to unforeseen circumstances . |
- Help to fly an aircraft with a FAA approved pilot. Students will participate in planning and conducting a flight to different airports in the Pikeville area.
- Flight simulation: At the airport, practice takeoff, landing, navigation, and reading aircraft instruments through use of computer flight simulation.
- Aviation activities: At the airport, students participate in a variety of activities and study. Included will be topics such as the principles of flight, engine and aircraft design, technology of flight, flight planning, navigation, weather, careers, etc.
- Eligibility: Students must be 10 but no older than 15.

- Transportation to and from camp is provided by parents or through other local arrangements.
- Interested parents complete the application below and return it with a check for $165 per student, payable to the Aviation Museum of Kentucky.
- Scholarships may be available to a limited number of students. To apply, see the application below.
